About the Practice Test

This Sample Midterm Exam has been made available so that you can become familiar with the test format and types of questions that will be on the Midterm Exam. This is a practice test and will not count toward your final grade. However, I strongly encourage you to treat this as if it were the real exam. Try to create the same conditions you would expect to have while taking the real Midterm Exam.

How to prepare for the Midterm Exam (and Practice Test)

1. Review any notes or outlines you made from the assigned readings, video lectures, or Live Sessions

2. Go to the "Overview" page in each module. Look at the section called "Learning Objectives." Test yourself. Can you do each of the bullet points? Questions in the exam will be derived from these learning objectives.

3. Look at the questions at the end of the video lectures. Are you able to answer these questions?

4. Review the module quizzes.

5. Take the Sample Midterm Exam (Practice Test). Review your answers. Do you know why your 'incorrect' answers were wrong?

On the day of the exam

1. Log your attendance in Canvas as you normally would do.

2. Join the Live Session by opening the link in a new tab or new window, so that you can have access to both Canvas and Zoom at the same time. Make sure your webcam is on. Make sure you do not have any books or notes in your work area.

3. Start the Midterm Exam on Canvas at 7:00 pm. You won't be able to start earlier. The exam is locked until 7:00 pm.

4. When you are finished, submit your answers, and then leave Zoom. Remember, submit your exam first, then leave Zoom.

Instructions for the Midterm Exam

This is a CLOSED BOOK exam. You may not use any materials or receive any aid while taking this exam. Choose the correct answer or type your answers in the space provided.

If anything is ambiguous or unclear, you may ask me to clarify by sending a direct message in Zoom. You are not allowed to communicate with other students. Please note, as your instructor (and host on Zoom) I can monitor your activity online.

You have 90 minutes to complete the exam.

Once you have submitted your exam on Canvas, you may leave the session. Remember, complete and submit your exam first, then leave Zoom.

Good luck!
