Instructions

The midterm exam consists of two parts, a written portion and a GIS practical. The written portion is further subdivided into two parts, multiple choice and short essay.

Students are to answer all multiple choice questions. Each is worth 2 points. Students will answer 3 of six short essay questions. Two of the questions are required, while students can pick one of four remaining questions as the final question to answer. Each short essay question is worth 10 points.

Students will have the full class period (1 hour and 15 minutes) to complete the exam. The exam, while taken online, is technically closed book. Students trying to use the Internet or other resources to answer questions will quickly find they do not have enough time to complete the exam.

The written portion of the midterm is worth 60 points total. Because of the way Canvas handles questions, each essay is shown to be worth 5 points. However, since you are to only answer 3 of the 6, each is actually worth 10 points. This was to "trick" Canvas into keeping the total at 60 points. Ultimately, the written and practical will be combined for a total of 100 points.
