French and Indian War (1754-1763)

This war was also called the Seven Years War and occurred in multiple countries around the world, including Europe, India, and North America. The French and the English were warring over colonial lands, which eventually the English won, but at a great cost. In fact, the cost was so great, and the debt that they incurred so heavy, that it led to the Revolutionary War because the English Parliament needed to raise taxes to cover the debts and wanted to restore their profits. It was called the French and Indian War in the colonies because of the French use of Indian mercenaries to help fight.
