PARTICIPATION ACTIVITY: Team Agreements (group submit)
- Due Jan 30, 2022 by 12pm
- Points 10
- Submitting a text entry box or a file upload
About this Activity
The most effective teams have well-defined roles, set clear guidelines on how the team will function and formulate a common set of expectations of one another. This activity is intended to help facilitate that process. You will need to discuss and document answers to the following:
- How and when are you going to communicate as a group?
- What role and/or responsibilities will each team member play?
- What strategies will you use to resolve issues and conflicts?
Objective
- To unite your team with a common set of realistic expectations that your teammates generate and agree to honor
- To develop a written, 'contractual' understanding that eliminates misunderstandings or invalid claims about what is expected of each person in the group.
Directions
- Download and read the "Example Team Agreement" from the Resources section below. This document may be used as a starting point for you to formulate you own rules/guidelines.
- Meet with your group. On one document, list the rules and expectations you agree to adopt as a team. You can deal with any or all aspects of the responsibilities outlined in the “Example Team Agreement”—preparation for and attendance at group meetings, making sure everyone understands all the solutions, communicating frankly but with respect when conflicts arise, etc. Each team member should add their name to the document, indicating acceptance of these expectations and intention to fulfill them.
- Submit one agreement on behalf of your entire group in Canvas. Make sure each member of the group has a copy of the final version for reference.

Assessment
These expectations are for your use and benefit - they won't be graded, although you will get participation points for turning in a statement. You only need to submit one agreement on behalf of your group.
I will keep a copy of your completed agreements for reference in the event of problems arising later in the course.
