- This brief case study provides comprehensive geographically rich datasets that allow evaluation and monitoring of life-cycle emissions from oils. The authors of the study, modeled well-to-refinery carbon intensity (CI) of all major active oil fields globally—and to identify major drivers of these emissions. To estimate CI, the authors developed the Oil Production Greenhouse gas Emissions Estimator (OPGEE) tool. If you are interested in reading more about if and how the OPGEE tool can help you in your work, you can find the documentation and excel-based tool below.

- The link provides detailed documentation for the Oil Production Greenhouse gas Emissions Estimator (OPGEE) tool. This is an engineering-based life cycle assessment (LCA) tool that estimates greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the production, processing, and transport of crude petroleum. The system boundary of OPGEE extends from initial exploration to the refinery gate.
