Prerequisite: admission to Teacher Education program. Course provides foundation to legislation, policies and procedures for educating children/youth with exceptionalities. Course focuses on primary recipients of special education services, procedures for providing special education to children and youth w/educationally-related problems, understanding responsibilities associated with the implementation of special education programs and services, and emerging skills needed to ensure successful educational experiences for children/youth with exceptionalities.
