Theory should inform practice. This course is designed to expose students to fundamental theories upon which practice in human relations may be based, and to facilitate an understanding in how these theories can be applied by human relations practitioners. Emphasis is placed on organizational, management and leadership theories, along with social theories focusing on specific social locations (e.g., race, class, gender, etc.). The course is intended to provide an interdisciplinary perspective for interacting with individuals in diverse settings.
