DISCUSSION POST | VIEW TIP
This is an example of an online discussion. It also shows how course content (in this case a video) can be paired with a discussion to encourage student engagement.
RUBRIC | VIEW TIP
This discussion also has a rubric attached to it. If you are not logged into this course, scroll down on this page to view the rubric. If you are logged in, you can view the rubric by clicking the three dots in the upper right hand corner and selecting "Show Rubric."
The Use of Media
Watch the short video below that discusses how FDR used radio during his governorship. When you have finished the video, research his use of radio during his presidency, specifically his fireside chats.
"Radio is bringing to the ears of our people matters which they refuse to consider in the daily press with their eyes."
-Franklin Delano Roosevelt
How did FDR use media to influence the American people? How does this compare to the use of media today by our current politicians (method, message, motivation, etc.)? Please provide specific examples and links to those examples.
> Post one original post and then respond at least two times to other students' posts.
Please Note: You may need to log into OU libraries to view the video below.
