Midterm Exam
Spring 2022
Instructions:
There are 20 multiple choice questions. You do not need to show any work for these questions and they should be answered in Canvas by selecting the best answer for each question. There is only one correct answer for each question. There is no partial credit for the multiple choice questions.
There are five problems that each require file uploads to Canvas. You should use Genius Scan (or any other scanning device) to create a PDF file of your answers which you will upload to Canvas. along with any supporting Excel work. Please print your name and the problem number clearly at the top of each PDF you submit. Please answer each part of each problem as it is shown in the problem. A Word document is also acceptable. There is a separate place at the end of the exam to upload an Excel file with all your Excel work on it for the problems. Please upload one Excel file with separate worksheets (tabs) for each problem that you used Excel for.
Problems 3 and 4 require the use of additional data which can be found here: FF data.xlsx
Problems 1-4 each require the use of Excel. Problem 5 may be solved in Excel, but it doesn’t have to be. If you aren’t using Excel for Problem 5, please show your work on the PDF or Word file. Some problems have parts which ask you to show your work there. For those problems, it is important that you show your simple computations on the PDF or Word file if you want to get maximum credit. Partial credit will be given where applicable for each of the five problems.
For all monetary answers, please carry out your final answer to the nearest cent. For all percentage answers, please carry out your final answer to the nearest basis point (one-hundredth of a percent). For problems requiring a decimal answer, please carry them out four decimals unless the problem states otherwise.
