Instructions
All students are free to personalize notifications as best suits their needs, but it is important to understand that Instructor will be using Announcements to inform students of class cancellations, changes to assignments, and other important information.
Also, the most efficient and effective way to communicate with the Instructor is for students to use Canvas messaging (a.k.a. Conversations), not regular email. Canvas messages automatically include course information in the message heading, which makes it easier for the Instructor to respond to your questions and concerns. The Instructor may also send Canvas messages to students individually or to the class as a whole.
Students are responsible for timely accessing the content of Announcements and Canvas messages, whether or not they elect to have these items forwarded to an email account.
Canvas provides students an option to submit comments with grade items such as assignments. All such comments can only be viewed if the Instructor or TA is looking at the page on which it was submitted. Canvas will not "push" comments to the intended recipient in a timely fashion. Therefore, do not use submission comments to communicate with the Instructor or TAs.
