Course Components
Class Attendance
Class attendance is worth a total of 60 points (10 points for each Live Session 1 - 6). In order to get any points you must be present at the Live Session.
If I have excused you from attending a Live Session, to get the points for that session please view the recording of the session and provide a short write-up (in bullet form not exceeding 50 words) on what you believe were the main takeaways from that session. Your write-up is due by Sunday at 11:59 pm (CDT) of the week for which you missed the session.
Homework Assignments
There are 6 chapter homework assignments for the class worth a total of 240 points (40 points each). Each homework assignment has a set due date and time included in Connect and listed on the course schedule below. The homework assignments are made up of both noncomputational (conceptual) and computational (application) questions. You will have unlimited attempts and check my works to complete each homework assignment, which are specifically intended to assess your overall comprehension and ability to apply the key concepts from the materials covered each week. You may refer to your book and notes for completing the homework assignments.
Please note that once a homework assignment closes in Connect, it will not be reopened for points, so please be aware of the homework assignment dues dates and time included in Connect and listed on the course schedule below.
Comprehensive Final Exam
There is a comprehensive final exam for the class worth a total of 200 points. The exam will taken online using Connect during our last live session for the class on Tuesday, June 28, from 7:00 pm (CDT) - 9:00 pm (CDT). The comprehensive final exam has a set time limit of 2 hours to complete and is specifically intended to assess your overall comprehension and ability to apply the key concepts from the materials covered during the class.
Please note that the exam is time sensitive. You will have 2 hours to complete the exam, and once you access the exam, it will automatically close after the 2 hour time limit set for it.
You may refer to your book and notes for the exam but, again, please be cognizant of the time sensitive nature of the exam.
Extra Credit Work
Because final grades for the class are based on total points, students that fall short of the next higher grade by a few points often ask if there is any extra credit work available for the class. The answer is no, there is no extra credit of any kind available for the class.

Academic Misconduct
In addition to the course conduct policies outlined by your professor in the Course Syllabus in the online classroom, please review the Graduate Student Handbook.
It is the responsibility of each student to be familiar with the definitions, policies, and procedures concerning academic misconduct. The Student Code is available from the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, and is contained in the Student's Guide to Academic Integrity.
This site also defines misconduct, provides examples of prohibited conduct, and explains the sanctions available for those found guilty of misconduct.
Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the most common form of academic misconduct at OU. There is basically no college-level assignment that can be satisfactorily completed by copying. OU's basic assumption about writing is that all written assignments show the student's own understanding in the student's own words. That means all writing assignments, in class or out, are assumed to be composed entirely of words generated (not simply found) by the student, except where words written by someone else are specifically marked as such with proper citation. Including other people's words in your paper is helpful when you do it honestly and correctly. When you don't, it's plagiarism.

Religious Holidays
It is the policy of the University to excuse absences of students that result from religious observances and to provide without penalty for the rescheduling of examinations and additional required classwork that may fall on religious holidays. It is the responsibility of the student to make alternate arrangements with the instructor at least one week prior to the actual date of the religious holiday.

Copyright Policy
It is illegal to download, upload, reproduce, or distribute any copyrighted material, in any form and in any fashion, without permission from the copyright holder or their authorized agent. The University of Oklahoma expects all members of its community to comply fully with federal copyright laws. Registration and Withdrawal
If you choose to withdraw from this course, you must complete the appropriate University form and turn the form in before the deadline. If you stop attending the course and doing the coursework without doing the required paperwork, your grade will be calculated with missed homework and examination grades entered as zero. This could result in receiving a grade of F in the course. Deadlines are shown in the Academic Calendar, which is available from the Office of the Registrar.
