Live Sessions

I believe we learn more through active engagement than passive observation. We learn from our peers. To this end, in every class, we will spend the last half doing "class participation". You will present your homework to your classmates, telling them how you did the assignment. If you miss the class or are taking the class asynchronously, you will need to write up a 1,000-word assignment that includes both what you would have presented and what you learned from your peers (after reviewing the video of the class). 

Each Monday from 7:00–9:00 pm (Central), I will host a virtual class in real-time. The sessions will focus on the learning objectives associated with the week's topic(s). During that time, I will answer your questions, demo techniques and processes that you will need, and explain instructions for upcoming homework.  These sessions are provided for your benefit. I will record each session and post a link to the recording in case you are not able to join us in real-time.

Homework

The homework assignments are designed to allow you to practice applying the techniques and processes presented during the Live Sessions. The more effort you invest in these homework assignments, the better you will likely do on the test.  Not mastering the material on homework assignments will return to haunt you during the test.

The homework will be available Sunday night and will be due Thursday night at midnight. 

Full credit will not be given for homework or class participation turned in late. 

Exam

This exam is designed to assess your mastery of the content we covered in the first seven weeks of the course.  This exam focuses on the conceptual material.

The exam is to be completed individually. You may not consult with any of your classmates or anyone outside the class. Any questions about the test need to be addressed solely to me and via email.  If I can answer the question, I will provide the answer to the entire class.

You will have 24 hours from the ending of the Week-8 class period to complete the exam.

You may have questions or feedback. Feel free to contact me. I can be available or through Canvas but prefer email. I usually respond within 24 hours during the workweek.

Late Policy

Given that the class is only eight weeks in length, and you are given four days to turn in homework. Submitting work late should be avoided unless under the most extreme of circumstances. If you do need to turn in work late, contact me immediately and not at the last moment. Lastly, there may be a penalty for late work.
