  • What is an issue I care deeply about and want to know about?
  • Is there an assignment I have for another class where I might be able to do some research in this class and apply it to this assignment? (Note: be sure that your other instructor is aware you are doing this if this is the case.)
  • Is there an advanced degree I am interested in getting some day, and if so, what about that field of study would I want to know more about?
  • What is something that would be useful to research?
  • What would be something that is good to research, but won't overwhelm me by being too technical or advanced for my skill and knowledge level?
  • Explore any other questions that come to mind.
