Discussion Evaluation
Students are evaluated on:
- The quality of critical thinking demonstrated, in both initial posts and replies to peers
- Direct reference (including citations) to assigned readings
- Number of postings each week
Reading Reviews Evaluation
Students are evaluated on:
- The quality of the analysis of reading materials
- The quality of the synthesis of sources
- Proper use of Chicago style of citations
- Correct application of the academic writing rules
- Length of the essay
Multi-Media Conference Presentation Evaluation
Students are evaluated on:
- Quality of the layout of the slides
- Quality of design
- Quality of the video portion
- Providing the required number of slides
- Logical progression of the presentation
Course Policies
Communication
Instructors are expected to return e-mails in a timely fashion, within 24-48 hours. Use only your OU email address for all OU correspondence and assignments.
Feedback
Instructors are expected to return written assignments, quizzes and exams in a week or less.
Absences & Late Policy
While faculty members are expected to communicate with the class throughout the academic session, it is your responsibility to maintain personal communication with your instructors. If you are going to be delayed in submitting assignments, you should make all efforts to contact your instructors in advance to let them know about your situation. Keep in mind that in most cases, it is at the discretion of the instructor whether to grant an extension or apply late penalties to an assignment received after the posted deadline.
Faculty members are not obligated to initiate contact with you before giving an assignment or final grades. If you have several outstanding/late assignments, your grade may be seriously impacted.
Plagiarism
Academic misconduct in any form is inimical to the purposes and functions of the university and therefore is unacceptable and rigorously prohibited.
