Asynchronous Online: Learning takes place online and asynchronously within a course site, typically hosted in a learning management system (LMS).

Quizzes will cover the information in the module in which they are located. 

Exams 

There will be two comprehensive exams--the midterm and the final exam. The midterm will cover the content in Weeks 1-8, and the final exam will cover content in Weeks 9-16.

Communication

I expect that throughout our 16 weeks together all participants will exhibit respectful behavior in our communications and time together (virtual and in-person).

Ways I expect participants to show respect:

  •   Use the hand raise function in zoom to gain the floor
  •   Join tutorials and any meetings on-time.
  •   Communicate to me and our group if unexpected adversities arise.  We can't actually plan everything, and we all need a little grace every now and then.  However, if you don't communicate and speak up when 'things come up', no one can help you.  
  •   When addressing others, it is expected that there will be no name calling, and no use of profanity in the learning environment.

Feedback 

Students will recieve feedback on homework and exams. If any additional feedback is needed or if there are questions about feedback, please make an appointment to visit with me during office hours or reach out via email.

Late Policy

All work must be submitted by the due date. If there is a medical reason you cannot submit something on time and you can provide documentation, please contact me to discuss submitting work late. 

Plagiarism 

Plagiarism is the most common form of academic misconduct at OU. There is basically no college-level assignment that can be satisfactorily completed by copying. OU's basic assumption about writing is that all written assignments show the student's own understanding in the student's own words. That means all writing assignments, in class or out, are assumed to be composed entirely of words generated (not simply found or prompted from generative AI) by the student, except where words written by someone (or something) else are specifically marked as such with proper citation. Including other people's (or generative AI) words in your paper is helpful when you do it honestly and correctly. When you don't, it's plagiarism. 

Proven cases of academic dishonesty will be reported to the university.
