Canvas 201: Common Features

Hello and Welcome to Canvas 201: Common Features.

Course Instructors

Prerequisites

  • In order to participate in Canvas 201, you need to have already created and published a development course in Canvas.
    • (It is important that you publish the course so Corey or David can access it should you need assistance and/or feedback)
  • If you have not yet done so, you may find information about starting a course here 
  • Alternatively, you may want to consider taking Canvas 101: An Introduction to Canvas, which provides a step-by-step guide to creating and publishing your own Canvas course.  

Course Goal

  • We realize that instructors may not utilize all of the applications discussed in this minature course.  So, please feel free to pick and choose among the these tutorials according to your needs. At the conclusion of this course, our goal is that participants will be comfortable using one, some, or all of the following applications: SpeedGrader, i>clicker, Conferences, MyMedia, turnitin, and Portfolio
    • This miniature course is fully online and asynchronous. It is a 1-2 hour per day commitment for 2 days.

Course Schedule

  • Day 1:

      1. Review tutorials for the SpeedGrader, i>clicker, and Conferences
        (or, review only those applications you intend on using)
      2. Join Discussions to ask questions and also share your learning experience of these features                      
  • Day 2: (Content will be released on the second day.)
      1. Review tutorials for implementing MyMedia, turnitin, and Portfolio (or, review only those applications you intend on using)
      2. Join Discussions to ask questions and also share your learning experience of these features
