College Requirements
The Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences uses an Online Course Evaluation Rubric to help determine if a course meets specific guidelines.
This rubric was developed by our office, DFCAS Online and Academic Technology Services, based on current best practices in online learning in higher education and includes recommendations found in Quality Matters, rubrics and evaluations from other institutions, and Provost guidelines.
This is the same evaluation rubric that will be used for the final course check and approval.
The evaluation rubric is divided into five main areas:
- Course Introduction and Information
- Course Formatting and Layout
- Instructional Materials and Content
- Assessment of Learning
- Grades
Please take a moment and look over it (see below).
The Course Evaluation Rubric should open automatically. It can also be downloaded for easier reading.
