College Requirements  

The college uses the following rubric to assess whether an online course meets best practices in higher education. It aligns with standards from Quality Matters, the Online Learning Consortium, Instructure, and university guidelines.

This rubric will also be used for the final review and approval of online courses.

Note: In addition to this rubric, review the college's teaching expectations for all online instructors, which include meeting the federal requirements for Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI).

The evaluation rubric below is divided into five main areas:

• Course Introduction and Information 
• Course Formatting and Layout 
• Instructional Materials and Content 
• Assessment of Learning
• Grades
