Take time to create meaningful learning outcomes

Creating learning outcomes for your students is the foundation to building your course. The University requires that all syllabi have listed learning outcomes.

If you need help drafting your student learning outcomes and course goals, the Office of Academic Assessment has suggested you ask yourself the following questions:

  • What do you want students to know and do upon completion of your course?
  • And how will you know if they get there?

Visit their Course Assessment page for information on developing course goals and student learning outcomes. They have an excellent five step process for developing a course assessment plan.
